Brew a Quick Cup of Coffee On The Go

Pod coffee makers are made for busy people and those going for the path of least resistance, who drink only limited amounts of coffee, just like single serve coffeemakers in general, and they are similar to the idea of the Keurig one cup coffee makers series.

Check out some pod coffee-maker reviews here.

Pod coffee brewers are actually single cup coffee makers, brewing directly through the coffee pod into the mug instead of making a whole pot of coffee.

Are you a busy person with no time to roast, grind and measure your own coffee grounds? A simple single serve coffee maker, like the pod coffee machines, brews quickly and eliminates the hassle and mess of handling coffee ground, as required by drip coffee makers, such as the 4 cup coffee maker, the 10 cup coffee maker and so on.

So, What Is A Pod Coffee Maker?

Pod coffee-makers are much in trend today. They are designed for today's busy people appreciating a quick brew. The pods are pre-set and pre-sealed coffee packages. They are inserted into the pod coffee makers that pass hot water through the pod and brew straight into the coffee cup.

The advantage of the pod coffee-maker is that it makes a quick cup of coffee and brew fast and it does not require a filter. At the press of a button you get a ready brewed mug of coffee.

Pod brewers can be purchased at very affordable prices, below the $20 buck mark.

Disadvantages of Pod Brewers

But keep in mind that the convenience of using the pod coffee machine comes with a price, compromising cost and quality.

Because the beans are already ground and packed, they will lack the freshness and aroma of freshly roasted and ground coffee.

Cost per cup of coffee will also be higher than when buying whole beans.

Another factor to consider is the variety of blends and flavors that is limited by the pod coffee machines. Some manufacturers of pod cofee makers require the use of their own coffee pods. However, other one cup pod coffee makers will let you use your own coffee pods.

Consider, too, the space available for placing your coffee mug. Some pod coffeemakers will allow only smaller size mugs, so if you drink in large mugs, you won’t be able to use those.

Keep in mind that the general rule, "you get what you pay for" may hold true here too. Thus, you may find a nice, cheap pod brewer that makes fairly good coffee, but its quality is far from that of the better and more expensive pod brewers.

However, many people do prefer the economical coffeemakers and the coffee they produce is good enough for them.
