The idea is similar to Keurig's one cup coffee maker series that use pre-packed K-cups that are inserted and punctured by the single serve coffee maker that sprinkles water through the grounds and pours out the coffee readily into a single mug. There's no need to measure, no mess, no pots to wash and clean. It brews quickly. Just add water, pop in your pod, press the button and in a minute or so your coffee is ready to drink. It's not an ideal machine if you tend to drink a lot of coffee, like freshly ground coffee, or don't want to limit yourself to the available selections of pods.
It makes a quick cup of coffee, brews quite fast and is easy to operate at just the push of a button. It includes a dishwasher-safe brew basket and 18 Senseo coffee pods, and brews up to 12oz at once. It takes one or two coffee pods; regular or decaf, many blends and flavors. Pour in water in the reservoir, slip in your pod or two (for darker, stronger coffee) and push the button. It brews your coffee right into the coffee mugs. It’s a small and quite machine and does not take up much place. It has an automatic shut-off feature, so you don't have to do it manually. Some reservations about this machine are that its coffee might not be as strong or hot, although this depends on your personal preferences. You'll hear similar complaints in regard to Keurig's 1 cup coffee makers. People just tend to have very different tastes and what works for someone might not work for others. If you're very particular about the strength and taste of your coffee, perhaps choose your own type of coffee and grind your own beans for best quality. Keurig one cup coffeemakers, for example, can be used also with a reusable coffee grounds holder and filter where you can scoop in your own favorite coffee grounds instead of using the Kcups. Don't expect the quality of its coffee to compete with bigger dogs, but it may well serve the purpose when you just need a quick cup of coffee. You can use pods of other brands too, and you can use this machine to brew tea as well (put in a tea beg instead of a coffee pod in the pod holder). You are limited, however, to 12oz coffee mugs. The cord is a bit too short, and also the water reservoir can’t be removed. For a quick single serve of coffee, you can't go wrong with this machine for this price.
