Freshly Ground Coffee Is Best

The New York Times agrees... Fresh coffee is best.

In the Drinks subsection of the "Week in Review" section, Oct 02, 2011, Oliver Strand writes, that the single most important step for making a better cup of coffee is to grinding the beans with a burr coffee grinder just before preparing the coffee.

"...mediocre beans just out of the grinder have much more flavor than even fantastic beans that were ground up yesterday," writes Strand.

And what about ground coffee that is one week old? "It's time to add them to the compost heap," according to Strand.

So, grind on your own, at least buy fresh ground, and you'll have a better cup of coffee.
